1. About these terms
These terms cover your use of Haven at havensociety.in and its related web application, Android/iOS apps and supporting services. Please read them together with our Privacy Policy before accepting an invitation or using an account. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the service.
Haven is society-management software, not a residents association, property manager, bank, payment gateway or emergency service. Your society remains responsible for its administration and financial decisions. These terms do not replace your society’s bylaws, tenancy agreement or applicable law.
2. Accounts, eligibility and access
Account holders must be at least 18 and authorised to act in the role assigned to them. An administrator acting for a society must have authority to do so. Provide accurate information and notify your society or Haven when access or details need correcting.
Resident access is invitation-based. One account may have more than one authorised society or flat assignment; access is limited to those assignments. Invitation links, passwords and verification credentials must be kept private. Do not share an account or impersonate another resident. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.
3. Society and resident responsibilities
Society administrators are responsible for the accuracy and lawful collection of resident details, invitations, meter readings, expenses, UPI details and published maintenance. Obtain any required authority or notices before adding another person’s information. Owners may manage tenant information only for their authorised flats.
Administrators should review flat-wise calculations and payment details before publishing or approving them. Residents should review their published statement and contact the society about disputes. Haven does not decide who owns a flat, resolve tenancy disputes, certify an expense or determine whether a society’s charges are legally valid.
4. Maintenance, corpus and corrections
Monthly maintenance is calculated from the contribution settings and inputs entered in the maintenance workspace. Actual expenses in the expense register affect corpus separately; they are not automatically the monthly amounts charged to residents. Common contributions and water usage may therefore differ from actual spending.
Draft calculations are for administrator review and are not a demand for resident payment. Publication freezes the month’s calculated bills. Residents should act on published bills only. Payment approvals, reversals and accounting corrections are recorded with an audit trail rather than silently rewriting past money movements.
Recorded corpus is an accounting balance based on information entered into Haven, not a bank balance verified by Haven. The society must reconcile it with its real accounts and keep any records required by law.
5. Payments and verification
UPI QR codes and links help populate the society’s payment details, amount and month in your chosen UPI application. Check the payee and amount in that application before confirming. Maintenance payments go directly to the society; Haven does not take custody of the funds or request a UPI PIN.
Submitting a reference or screenshot records a claim of payment; it does not independently prove settlement. The society administrator reviews it and records verification and the actual payment date. Payment-provider failures, transfers to an incorrect recipient, duplicate transfers and maintenance refunds must be addressed with your society and the payment provider as appropriate.
6. Records, uploads and acceptable use
You retain your rights in information and documents you provide. You authorise Haven to store, process, display, back up and transmit that content only as needed to provide and secure the service, support authorised society workflows or meet applicable obligations.
You must have permission to upload documents and other people’s information. Avoid unnecessary personal or financial details. Society exports should be shared only with appropriate recipients; you are responsible for copies you distribute outside Haven.
- Do not submit fabricated payment proof, misleading readings or fraudulent records.
- Do not access another society or flat without permission, bypass role restrictions or share secure file links publicly.
- Do not upload unlawful, abusive, infringing or malicious content, or interfere with the platform or its infrastructure.
- Do not scrape resident information or use it for unsolicited marketing or any unrelated purpose.
7. Platform subscriptions, cancellation and refunds
Haven platform subscription fees, duration and any renewal arrangement are stated in the plan/order agreed with the society. Once paid, platform subscription fees are non-refundable, including for unused time, except where a refund is required by applicable law or an applicable app-store billing policy.
Subscription cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid term; it does not end that term early or create a prorated refund. The agreed service remains available through that term, subject to these terms’ security and acceptable-use provisions. Use the contact below to request cancellation and receive confirmation of the term’s end date. Any renewal follows the agreed plan; these terms alone do not authorise automatic renewal.
Society maintenance collections are separate from Haven platform subscriptions. Questions about maintenance refunds must be addressed to the society and payment provider. If app-store purchases are offered, the store’s purchase-management, cancellation and mandatory refund processes also apply.
UPI apps, email delivery, cloud services and mobile/browser notification services are provided by third parties. Their services and terms may also apply. Haven is not endorsed by Apple, Google, your bank or a UPI provider merely because you use the app through them.
8. Privacy and communications
Our Privacy Policy explains account and resident information, uploaded files, payment records, service providers, retention and privacy choices. You may receive relevant service emails and in-app alerts. Device push notifications are optional and can be changed through device/browser settings.
An invitation is not permission for unrelated marketing. Administrators must respect residents’ privacy and use their details only for authorised society purposes. Do not place sensitive information in notification text or upload more evidence than needed.
9. Suspension, ending access and deletion
Access may be restricted or suspended to address unauthorised use, security incidents, a society’s lifecycle status or violations of these terms. Where appropriate, the reason and steps to resolve the issue will be communicated. Ending a flat assignment may remove access to that society or flat without deleting a shared Haven account.
Account/data requests follow the Privacy Policy. Society administrators should export needed records before an authorised society cleanup or deletion. Confirmed permanent cleanup can remove resident, accounting and file history and cannot be undone through Haven. Removing access, uninstalling an app and deleting an account are different actions.
10. Availability and responsibility
We aim to provide a reliable service, but availability, delivery of notifications and accuracy of user-entered information cannot be guaranteed. Maintenance, connectivity failures or third-party outages may interrupt features. Keep independent copies of essential society records and do not rely on push delivery for urgent or legal notices.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Haven does not promise that the service will be uninterrupted or free of errors and is not responsible for losses caused by inaccurate user inputs, unauthorised sharing, society decisions or third-party payment failures. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including mandatory consumer protections.
11. Haven’s software and brand
Haven’s software, design and brand remain the property of their respective rights holders. Your authorised use of the service does not transfer ownership. Do not copy, redistribute, misrepresent or use the platform or brand beyond what these terms and applicable law permit.
12. Changes, applicable law and contact
We may revise these terms as the service changes. The updated date identifies the current version; material changes will be communicated through an appropriate service notice. Separate written society agreements govern their specific commercial arrangements without limiting mandatory legal rights.
Applicable law and mandatory statutory rights apply. These terms do not impose an exclusive court venue or waive a legal remedy available to you. Contact Haven using the details below for service/legal matters; contact your society administrator first about maintenance amounts, occupancy or verification decisions.
